Congrats on making such a big life decision to get braces! I had them as a teenager…wore them for 18-months! It was painful, both emotionally and physically. I think the positive side of having braces as an adult is that at least you don’t have to go through that awkward teen phase with braces on your teeth! Next time you and Michael are over (which should be soon), I’ll show you some entertaining pics of me with braces and big hair.

Braces are HOT! I just had my wires changed last week and I hope your experience will be like mine because the pain didn’t last NEAR as long as the first time. Does it still suck? Of course. Just a little less. We need to go to Subway soon and laugh at each other with bread caught in our brackets.

Congrats on the braces - hope you won’t have too many problems along the way to reaching your goal to better yourself.

Well, I didn’t notice *that* much spittle on the video… *and* you got to keep the cast!

Happy for you, mate! I thought I had noticed something in the last post, but I wasn’t sure.

I’ve never had to have braces, but I would have been happier if my teeth were a bit whiter and my underbite wasn’t quite so prominent (I rerely completely shut my jaw, lest I end up looking like some northern neanderthal). Nowt I can do about the jaw, but my surgery does offer whitening procedures. Unfortunately, all our plan covers is a yearly checkup and a cleaning session with the hygenist.

Just a question (and potentially a hot-plaque-inducing-potato), but this side of the pond, we tend to get the impression that, in general, Americans are of the opinion that us lot have bad teeth? Always wondered if it was just a media stereotype, but is there any minty-fresh truth to it?

@Melissa, I am very much looking forward to seeing the pictures! Shoot me an email and let’s plan dinner…somewhere with soft food, please. :)

@John Braces are the new black. We’re turning it into a hot trend, just you and I. We can do Subway or Sushi anytime. You know how much I like both!

@Ramble, Thanks! I’m certainly trying, though I need to get my ass into gear on the diet.

@Xander, spittle is my friend, as is drool. :) My insurance covers about 1/3 of the cost of my treatment, which is better than nothing. It’s amazingly expensive! Regarding the US view of the collective teeth of the British, that certainly was a stereotype in movies and TV, especially in the past. However, I don’t think so anymore. I think you Brits are more stereotyped as Beckham and Posh lovers now than anything else. :)

Thanks to everyone for commenting! I appreciate you all.

You know what… I think that’s even worse! lol!

Congrats! It’s totally worth it if you ask me. I went the Invisalign route over the last year or so and it’s been worth it. Here’s looking ahead to your new smile!

Congrats on the braces! Honestly, I didn’t even notice them on the previous cast until you did the Brace-specific one. I still have my before and after castings from when I wore braces…a nice reminder of self improvement. Keep us posted!

Way to go, Justin! — I was a railroad track teenager (from age 12 to 21) back in the day. I hated braces back then, but as an adult, I’m very thankful that my parents had the means and the where-with-all to take such an interest in my mouth. Now, 30 years later, I wish I could talk them into paying to have all my teeth capped… Good luck with the wires and rubber bands.

[…] the difference in how you feel. Cutie Justin at JustinFeed.com recently, and bravely I might add, shared that his dental adventures are only just beginning. Kudos to him for having not only the guts to share that with us, but for having the guts to start […]

Teeth scare me because I have problems with my teeth. So when anyone talks about their teeth or oral health I’m a bit squeamish. Great video.
