[JF079] OKLAHOMA!

Oklahoma has gotten a bad reputation of late.  I come to the defense of my state and remind everyone that Sally Kern is not Oklahoma, and that there are Sally Kerns in every state of this union.

I don’t even want to think about what would happen around here if I was open. Sucks that there are Sally Kerns everywhere. The good news is that they’ll die eventually and realize it didn’t matter.

Hey I just wanted you to know that I agree with you…OK is a great state. I live in small town OK and would not have it any other way!

I still find it amazing, in this day and age of personal recording equipment and youTube, how idots like this think they can get away with saying stuff like this (and justifying it with the G word, I noticed) without anyone posting it up somewhere. At least all we need do is wait for them to commit career suicide.

As always, a great post. Looking forward to the upcoming goodies you’ve got promised.

In a *very* loosely related note, ‘Oklahoma’ is going to be the next show my town’s AmDram society is going to put on. Weird…

Very moving and enlightening video, Justin. We have several Sally Kerns here in Idaho, too, which I’m sure comes as no surprise. It always seems odd to me that these type of folks who have nothing but negative things to say about the gay “community” are the ones who get heard, never US, their “targets”.

So Thank You for taking the time to set a few people straight, so to speak, on the bigotry and hate that a few narrow minded people in the spotlight seem to enjoy spreading about things they know absolutely nothing about.

And Andy Melton, it WILL matter. You’re not alone.

I agree with you on the main points, but, where I live in MO the understanding people are the exception rather than the rule. I live openly here and have to deal with all of the negative things that entails.

I think it is important to live honestly and bravely where ever we are, but it is important to realize that it is not always the safest thing we could do.

if it were not for my families’ health, I would move away, but that option is not open to me right now. All I can do is struggle day by day not to return hate for hate, and to rise above the culture of division and strife that surrounds me here.

I love the show. You are a real voice in the night. Keep up the good work.
