Jim Inhofe believes that one must wear an American Flag lapel pin to show true patriotism.  See Jim Inhofe’s words in the Tulsa World and then look at his actions and determine for yourself if Jim Inhofe is a patriot of his own standards.

It seems like you were as offended and agitated by this morning’s article as I was. You did a great job channeling your feelings into a clever flash presentation. I, on the other hand, have been clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth all day. Now I have a huge headache. Thanks for your link from TW… I appreciate the production effort.

I have to admit, I’ve never ‘gotten’ the patriotism, thing. Maybe ’cause I moved around a bit when I was younger, or because I have friends and family all over the place.

My personal opinion, is that there is a very fine line between patriotism and somewhat agressive nationalism (though, thankfully, that line is crossed only by a relative minority). I personally don’t see any requirement to unfurl a flag or sing an anthem… or indeed any need to go out of my way to say ”Yay! Go ” (to be fair, the UK anthem and flag are rediculously dull, and steeped in a shady imperialist history).

With regards to Inhofe’s Obama comments, I would just say this: if a man is campaigning for the presidency of a country, he’s gonna be pretty gorram patriotic – it kinda’ goes without saying!

Liked your last post, from the Center Of The Universe, by the way. Just didn’t have any comment specific to it. Though, I will say, I’m liking the creative editing!

It’s a testament to the power of the rethug occupation in this country that we are convinced, nearly all of us, that the important things in an election are pins and hands over the heart and who’s the biggest baddest toughest ass kickin’ pol around.

Our Constitution has been under attack for eight years and our country is falling apart and we’re fucking around trying to figure who’s the most patriotic. It’s insane.
